The objective of this business proposal is to establish a product development process for a branded company. “II-Career” is a branded product manufacturer that seeks to deviate from the conventional approach of building an in-house R&D team. Instead, “II-Career” advocates for a decentralized product development strategy by forming dynamic teams of part-time professionals, known as “slashers,” who are selected based on the specific requirements of each project. By capitalizing on the diverse skill sets and adaptability of these professionals, “II-Career” aims to cultivate a culture of innovation, minimize operational costs, and expedite time-to-market.
Considering the challenges confronting branded product manufacturers, including the generation of innovative product ideas, effective management of R&D expenditures, and the optimization of the production process, “II-Career” proposes a strategic solution. The emergence of the gig economy, particularly accentuated in the post-COVID-19 era, underscores the potential benefits of tapping into the burgeoning slasher workforce. By collaborating with these multi-skilled professionals, "II-Career" not only broadens its reservoir of product ideation but also achieves a more economical R&D model. Complementarily, as part of its go-to-market strategy, "II-Career" envisions harnessing contemporary crowdfunding mechanisms to minimize financial risks associated with manufacturing. This approach not only capitalizes on current economic trends but also fosters a more adaptive and resilient product development paradigm.
The proposal also introduces an innovative remuneration model that compensates part-time contributors based on a ratio between fixed compensation by project and a percentage of profits generated by the developed product. This approach resembles the partnership structure typically seen in startup ventures. The proposed model offers mutual benefits as it fosters a sense of ownership among contributors and ensures that the success of the product development endeavor is directly tied to their personal achievements. This win-win scenario is expected to be advantageous for both the business and participating individuals.
If successful, this model could create an easily expandable resource without the risk of building a large development team within the company.
