Abstract: no
The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way the world operates dramatically. Those changes are not only the challenges for all individuals and organizations but also the opportunities for the world heading to the New normal era. Employee engagement, a crucial indicator of organizational health, is an urgent matter to be discussed in the midst of pandemic. When people had been forced to work remotely during the social lockdown, and regular work engagement practices could not be applied, maintaining employee engagement is a tricky question for employers. Therefore, an investigation of how perceived organizational support, reward and recognition, employee commitment, social relationship and loneliness could affect employee engagement was conducted. This study focuses on the young professionals, who could have different motivations and emotional attachment to the organization than other groups. A structured questionnaire was released to get the data from 192 employees working in Vietnam's big cities. The partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze the collected data with the help of SmartPLS software. The research results confirm that employee commitment plays an essential role in engaging employees. At the same time, social relationships and loneliness might not significantly impact the young generation. Moreover, it is implied that young professionals have more solicitude for payment and benefits when working remotely during the pandemic. On the other hand, perceived organizational support has a minor impact in this case. This research's findings can give organizations a perspective to find suitable managerial implementations for themselves.
