Abstract: 網絡功能虛擬化(NFV)和軟件定義網絡(SDN)是兩種在適應動態網絡控制方面具有巨大潛力的技術。網絡設備轉換為虛擬網絡功能(VNF),可以在任何COTS硬體上的虛擬環境中進行配置。這種轉變能大幅降低成本和耗能。此外,基於硬體的網絡功能鏈被稱為服務功能鏈(SFC)的虛擬網路功能鏈所取代。Open Platform for NFV(OPNFV)在佈署SFC方面是一個極具潛力的平台。在本文中,我們找出了在佈署OPNFV平台過程中的一些問題。完成部署後,如何放置虛擬網絡功能是另一個挑戰,關於網絡功能放置的理論很多,並且已經作為圖學上的優化問題進行研究。但是將理論應用到實際平台上具有挑戰性。因此,我們提供一個工具來幫助使用者建立並且對三種啟發式佈局算法進行效能分析比較,以研究網路服務鍊的延遲,吞吐量和處理器的使用情況,作為使用OPNFV的用戶之指南。
Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking(SDN) are two technologies to possess great potential in accommodating dynamic network control. Network appliances transform into VirtualNetworkFunctions (VNF), which can provision in virtual environments on any COTS hardware. This transformation can significantly reduce cost and energy consumption. Besides, the hardware-based network function chain is replaced by a chain of the VNFs, called Service Function Chain (SFC). Open Platform for NFV (OPNFV) is a potential platform to deploy SFC. In this thesis, we figure out some implementation issues while deploying the OPNFV platform. After finishing deployment, how to place virtual network functions is another challenge, there are many theories about network function placement, and it has been studied as an optimization problem on a graph. But it is challenging to apply for theoretical work on practical platforms. Therefore, We provide a tool to help users building SFC and performs measurement campaign on three heuristic placement algorithms to study the latency, throughput, and CPU usage introduced by SFC as a guideline for the user using OPNFV.
