Today, we live in a world where mass retail is dominated by online shopping, convenience stores, malls and shopping centers, the market for selling various "waste" second-hand goods seems to be on the edge of the formal economy and is considered to be the source of social problems and uncontrolled regulations. This study breaks away from these stereotypes and delves into the dynamics of commodification in the second-hand market, exploring how the Xichang flea Market, outside of planning, was created through the cooperation of various actors and actively practiced in various "time and space crack". Adopting participatory observation and ethnographic writing, this study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the market as a heterogeneous entity composed of geographical/social space, goods, and actors. In this process of "marketization", street vendors, who are considered part of the lower social class, create self-value through various strategies and social networks, not only involving the circulation and value transformation of urban waste, but also implementing the circular economy.
