Abstract: 這是 Peloton 公司的案例研究。Peloton 是一家新創公司,成立於 2012 年,是一家健身器材與科技公司,以 Peloton Bike 和 Peloton Tread 聞名。 Peloton 的快速增長使其成為獨角獸公司,並在股市引起了廣泛關注。在 COVID-19 期間,Peloton 在社交媒體上風靡一時並贏得了商機,因為它為人們在隔離期間在家鍛煉提供了一種很好的方式。它還為健身行業的供應鏈創造了巨大的商機。 然而,公司自 2021 年 7 月宣布召回其中一台跑步機以來,連續發布壞消息,隨後財務報表不佳。投資者開始對 Peloton 失去信心,並極大地影響了市場價格。 首先,回顧一下 Peloton 的商業模式及其早期成功的關鍵因素。此外,將對 Peloton 的公開季度財務報表進行分析,以評估 Peloton 營運策略的結果。此外,將為 Peloton 提出建議,以解決當前的困難並繼續業務增長。 從研究中得出的結論是,鑑於其優質的品牌形象和出色的客戶忠誠度,Peloton 擁有巨大的商機。但是,Peloton 確實需要解決當前的財務負擔並擴大其市場。 希望這項研究為 Peloton 的管理層提供一些見解和建議,以解決當前的挑戰並在不久的將來重新贏得投資者的信心。
This is a case study of Peloton’s company business strategies. Peloton is a startup company founded in 2012 as a fitness device technology company, famous of its Peloton Bike and Tread. Peloton’s rapid growth has made it a unicorn business and drew a lot of attention in the stock market. During COVID-19, Peloton went viral in social media and earned business opportunity as it provided a great way for people to exercise at home during quarantines. It also created huge business opportunity in supply chains in the fitness industry. However, company released continuous bad news since July 2021 when it announced the recall of one of the treadmills, followed by poor financial statements. Investors started to lose confidence in Peloton and greatly affected the market prices. First of all, the business model of Peloton and its key factor for early success will be reviewed. In addition, Peloton’s public quarterly financial statements will be analyzed to evaluate the outcomes of the business strategies of Peloton. Furthermore, recommendations will be proposed for Peloton to resolve the current difficulties and continue the business growth. From the study, it is concluded that Peloton has great business opportunity ahead given its premium brand image and outstanding customer loyalty. However, Peloton does need to resolve the current financial burdens and expand its markets. Hopefully this study provides some insights and advices to Peloton’s managements to resolve current challenges and win back the investors’ confidences in the near future.
