As the influence of social interaction in creative process has been attached great importance, coworker’s feedback became one of the important factors. However, in previous studies, there were inconsistencies in the effectiveness of coworker’s feedback in creative process. To fill the research gap, this study shows coworker’s dual role of competitor and learner in creative process. Based on perspectives of social information processing, this study attempts to explore coworker’s feedback which leads individual to perform both learning behavior and territorial behavior. Moreover, this study examines the dual mechanisms of both behaviors and investigates the moderating effect of coworker exchange (CWX) on above relationships. Using two-wave questionnaire survey, this study sample 195 pairs of supervisor-subordinate dyads in Taiwan. The result reveals that structural equation model (SEM) partially supported our hypothesized model, indicating that coworker’s feedback influences individual’s learning behavior positively through perspective taking, also influences individual’s territorial behavior through psychological ownership. Besides, CWX does not moderate both mediating effects. The implications of results, theoretical contributions, the implications for practitioners, limitations, and directions for future research are discussed separately at the end of the article.
