Abstract: N/A
The food and beverage incubator (F.B.I. for short) is not a foreign concept within the western world, but within Taiwan this idea is still relatively new. Taiwan has its fair share of incubator startups, but most of their focus has revolved around technology development. The food and beverage industry has always been widely popular, but there has not been an incubator that solely caters to this demand.
The F.B.I. business plan is intended to be used as a guideline to launch and manage a successful incubator. The food and beverage incubator is meant to serve as an economic accelerator. Not only does the incubator aim to help entrepreneurs, but it also aims to help revitalize local communities, support local agriculture, and create meaningful value within the Taiwanese economy. These characteristics should help distribute capital funds more efficiently, lead the incubator to be more sustainable, and increase its chance to succeed.
The food and beverage incubator business plan’s focus is divided into four parts : Develop the incubator structure – Identify all the stakeholders, develop our own network, set up a legal structure, choose members of the board, develop a structure for staff, operations, and finances, incorporate performance metrics, and build a meaningful brand which the program can be proud of.
Find potential future entrepreneurs – Provide simple guidelines to help identify potential candidates to join the program, and provide additional information on how the program works.
Provide the space and environment for entrepreneurs to experiment and develop, and identify the location and layout of the facility.
Provide consulting services to all members – Create an intricate platform where all entrepreneurs can get in contact with each other. Within this space, all members will have the ability to share ideas, help promote their projects, and most importantly use the resources of the program to assist all members to create a long-term plan for their own business.
Disclaimer
The Food and Beverage Incubator business plan was created through my own personal experience with the food and beverage industry, interviews with multiple individuals affiliated with the industry, and extensive research.
