This thesis is divided into two parts----contents of the play and its explanations and analysis.
The New Teacher is comprised of five scenes: September 1st, October 11th, November 21st, December 31st and January 3rd. According to the time schedule for secondary education in Taiwan, from the beginning of the semester to the end of it, it will take exactly one semester for the five scenes. The New Teacher is related to the story of a new female teacher who just passed the teacher’s test and entered a junior high school in a remote area, and how she dealt with colleagues, parents, students and systems. This script tries to reveal the current situation of middle school and explored issues such as workplace bullying, urban-rural divide, disable family, unbalanced parent-teacher relationship, sexual harassment and abuse, and unfair education resource distribution. It also discussed about the impact of these problems on teachers and on the campus environment.
