| Abstract: | Water for You and Me is a social business created to alleviate the lack of access to clean water that exists today in Honduras. This social business has been created by GGDP (GRUPO DE GESTIÓN Y DESARROLLO PRODUCTIVO) Group of Management and Productive Development - a mercantile society that seeks to potentiate local producers of Honduras, their families and their future development.
Water for You and Me mission will be to provide accessible water filters to the Honduran families, guaranteeing the safety of the water being consumed. The reason we chose this name for the company is because for very home water filter purchased, our business will donate an individual bottle water filter to communities in need of clean water. Our business will offer one home water filter systems and their replacement filter cartridges, Mobile Water which is an individual bottle water filter with its corresponding replacement cartridge and C-Free Water Straw, an individual portable filter in the shape of a straw. Compared to our competitors who only offer home filters, we offer both, home and individual filters. An important characteristic of our home water filter systems is that they are non electrical, a feature that is not available in the water filters currently sold in Honduras. The target customers for our water filters will be middle class families, low income or no income families for the filters that will be donated, government and private businesses who have social responsibility programs in the community. Initially our operations will be in the capital city Tegucigalpa and adjacent areas. As our company grows, we will expand to different areas in Honduras. Marketing efforts will strongly rely on the alliance we have with the Credit Unions in Honduras. Through these credit unions we have access to 845,000 affiliates who can purchase the filters from our company and/or donate filters to those in need of filters. Finally, as we operate our business throughout the years, we expect a net profit margin sufficient enough to allow us to continue with our operations and donations to communities with no access to clean water. |
