摘要: | 語言的共性在貿易的便利化、投資及高技術勞工的移民扮演著重要角色。
東亞政府意識到使用人數高的語言能帶來正面影響,正積極地將自家語言推廣到海外。然而,現有數據指出,語言對於針對吸引投資與外國技術勞工的政策成功,仍是一個阻礙。政府應該向海外推廣他們的語言嗎?若是如此,又要如何做才能推廣成功呢?為回答此問題,進行了一個以學生註冊人數做為應變數的複迴歸分析。其結果顯示,經濟是學習語言最大的動機,因此積極推廣的成效有限。 Commonality of language plays an important role in the facilitation of trade, investment, and migration of highly skilled labor. East Asian governments such as China, Japan and the Republic of Korea are aware of the positive ramifications of a language that is spoken by many, people are actively promoting their language abroad. However, available data reveals that language is still an impeding factor for the success of policies that aim to attract investment and skilled labor from abroad. Should governments promote their language abroad? If so, how is successful promotion of languages achieved? To answer this question, a multiple regression analysis using student enrollment numbers as the dependent variable was conducted. The results show that the biggest motivating factor for studying a language is largely economic and active promotion and will, therefore, yield only limited success. |
