舒暢及其小說研究

Abstract

本論文以近被臺灣文學史遺忘的軍中作家──舒暢及其小說為研究重心，舒暢〈重印序〉表明其創作理念為企圖呈現心物合一的「真實世界」，以此作為探討其作品的出發點，並將舒暢的小說依寫作時間先後分為兩大主題：第一為「人獸變形�異質空間：舒暢小說的困境書寫」，以六○年代中至七○年代中期出版的《櫥窗裡的畫眉》、《風箏•玩偶•垃圾車》的九篇作品為討論重心，一一細探困境書寫的三種層次：愛情、追尋與生存，困境透過異質、囚禁與扭曲的空間展現，也產生一種人降格為鳥獸的變形衝動以及時空意識的錯亂感受，這些處於孤絕狀態的個體，如何突破與重回人與人的具體關連之中，即為小說關注的重點。 第二項主題「何處是家：邊緣�垃圾般的老兵位置」，八、九○年代出版之《院中故事》、《那年在特約茶室》為研究重點，兩書與舒暢的軍旅背景密切相關，一則側重退役軍人的晚年生活，一則針對戰後駐防外島士兵們的愛慾圖景，共同反映外省軍人對於「情感」與「家」的渴望。總的而言，舒暢大規模、細緻地創作許多畸零人�邊緣人角色，這些人在社會上的主體是被泯滅的、不被關注的，舒暢藉由小說寫作重新賦予他們主體的地位，展現藝術的救贖力量；他的小說從不為制式的教條或政治理念服務，而是以同情的、人性的角度出發，描寫社會中被棄至「垃圾」位置的身邊的人，這便是其小說的價值所在。

This thesis focus on a writer named Shu Chang, who nearly forgotten by history of Taiwan literature, and his novels. From the ‘reprinted perface’(重印序) of Shu Chang, we can tell his view on literature is through“Unity of Mind and Matter”(心物合一) to achieve literary authenticity, and I tried to use this concept as a beginning to explore his novels. Therefore, I divided his novels into two major themes in chronological. First, there’re three dilemmas of Shu Chang’s works: Love, Seeking, and survival. And the Second, the situation of demobilized soldiers from Chinese mainland, especially in the struggle for relationship and family. Through these two sections, I summed up that Shu Chang re-granted the subjectivity of these marginal people by writing them into novels, what is the main merit of his works.
