Abstract: | Electrical Vehicles (EV) has gain a lot of traction in recent years both in technological advancement as well as consumers’ uptake. This paper will first evaluate the whole EV market on the industry level. Then the EV market in Singapore will be investigated. The issue will be looked at different angles and aspects. Factors such as government initiatives and support to the practical issues of average driving mileages will be explored. The hypothesis is that there are 2 main reasons for the slow uptake of EV. The high prices of the EVs in Singapore and the limited driving range of EVs. The paper will have a qualitative review of various industry reports and case studies. It is followed by a quantitative ranking of selections of the types and applications of EVs suitable in Singapore. The rankings will help to highlight the suitable EV and application/s in Singapore in current conditions.
