| Abstract: | This study utilized a long term and large scale citations analysis to analyze whether the rise of E-journal has helped the reference of the IS field distribute into more diverse disciplines and helped the IS field become more mature.
Results indicate that proportions of references referring to self-field (the IS field) and the Management field have become more stable. References from IS articles to Pure-IS journals grew from 25.77% to 49.26% of the total references for a percentage increase of 23.49%, in addition the HHI of Pure IS has also became more disperse but not concentrated on a few journals. According to the above mentioned phenomena, we believe the IS field has gradually developed into a more mature field after the E-journal arose. |
