卡塔蘭猜想的證明之探討

Abstract

Catalan’s Conjecture 的敘述是，唯一連續的完全次方數正整數數對是8 和9 這一組。換言之，Catalan’s equation，即「x的平方減y的三次方等於一」，的唯一正整數解是(3,2,2,3)。 這個定理在1844 年作為猜想被提出，並且在2002 年被證明。這篇論文沿用了在 J. Daems 所寫的「Cyclotomic Proof of Catalan’s Conjecture」中所使用的各種方法，去重新描述這個定理的部分證明。 整個定理的證明依據Catalan’s equation 中的兩個指數的各種情況，共分成四部分。這篇論文主要是著重於有利用到cyclotomic field 相關的理論去進行證明的部分。
