This thesis narrates the intersection between "disabled bodies" and the "social work profession framed by ableism," exploring how disability and social work intersect in interpretation and practice. Reviewing existing literature and academic contexts, I recognize the need to transcend voicelessness rooted in the objectification and visual rationalization of disability knowledge. Grounded in a constructivist approach to subjectivity, I reclaim my determination to narrate personal experiences, resist the mainstream, and reflect on subjectivity, using an autoethnographic method to contextualize my professional growth.

The analysis draws on 126 archival documents from ten years of intersecting disability and social work, supplemented by interviews, literature, and secondary sources. The thesis culminates in four narrative axes: first, a micro-level discussion of "fractured self and fractured disability experiences"; second, how professional practice and macro structures shape a "disempowering yet empowering ableist framework"; third, a longitudinal interpretation of oppression and resistance, leading to a narrative that "recognizes collective oppression and resistance." Finally, I share a journey toward "decolonization and self-discovery," grounded in intersectionality and anti-colonial discourse, reclaiming agency and disabled narratives.

Beginning with personal experience, this thesis reflects on the foundations of disability, social work education, and professional governance within national interventions, centralized paradigms, and narratives constructing ableism and mainstream conformity. Facing the mainstream able-bodied society, I mark my attempts to resist and forge a survival path, rather than reintegrating into the mainstream or assimilating diverse identities into pre-established ableist frameworks. Ultimately, I aim to articulate resistance and inspire marginalized individuals to recognize themselves, resist the mainstream, narrate their own stories, and become themselves.
