dc.description.abstractThis thesis assesses consumer acceptance of eco-friendly packaging within the Taiwanese bottled water market, emphasizing the urgency to reduce plastic waste. Despite Taiwan's high recycling rates, the widespread use of single-use plastic bottles continues to present significant environmental threats. Through quantitative analysis derived from a structured questionnaire distributed among Taiwanese consumers, this research investigates consumer preferences for sustainable alternatives such as glass, aluminum, and biodegradable materials. The findings reveal that many consumers show a strong preference for eco-friendly packaging and are willing to pay a premium if the price difference remains within a reasonable range. Key factors influencing purchasing decisions include brand reputation, product convenience, and environmental impact awareness. Additionally, demographic variables correlated with preferences for sustainable packaging are identified. Despite the positive attitudes, challenges such as price sensitivity and limited availability of eco-friendly options hinder broader adoption. This research contributes to a better understanding of consumer behavior in relation to environmental sustainability and provides insights for businesses and government officials to promote green packaging solutions in Taiwan’s bottled water industry.en
