Space is a field where power and memories compete, depicting the footprints of people’s lives and the facts of social changes. Landscape, as an ideology system, tells the interactions and connections between people. In the past, public spaces were mostly designed with a male perspective, and few interpretations focused on women. This shows that space is a geographical imprint of social relations. This article takes the women’s landmark decision-making group as the research target, using interview methods, observation methods and text analysis, and uses theories such as feminist spatial politics, critical patrimony, (anti)monuments, and critical walking tours. Analyze the spatial action strategies of the decision-making group and propose three levels of research findings in response to this research question, that is, how to deconstruct the mainstream landscape through spatial implementation and reconstruct the space view with women as the subject of historical narrative. First of all, four volumes of guiding books on women''s historical sites were published, which brought together many historical sites in the past. The historical narrative with time as the axis expands the writing content of the spatial dimension. The guiding book adds a spatial dimension that was not easy to find in the past, and points out its impact on women''s history. Through spatial writing, the role of women as the subject in history is retrieved. Vocal position. Next, let’s analyze the extent to which the fifteen female landmarks set up by the decision-making group have disturbed the implicit ideology of mainstream masculine landscapes, and point out the limitations of using such micro-landmarks to disturb the overall landscape culture. Finally, the decision-making group assembled a dot-and-line landscape tour to incorporate the female perspective into the position of historical teller, loosen the gender order of mainstream texts, and reshape the narrative with a woman''s subjective perspective. From this, three consecutive findings focus on responding to the core of this research—how to commemorate Taiwanese women’s history through space. |
