| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | Structural design is an extremely important stage in the life cycle of a building. However, when the demand for construction is increasing, the traditional design method has revealed many disadvantages, especially the coordination between departments in the design phase. BIM is emerging as a method that can overcome those disadvantages. BIM software is highly interoperable through the IFC platform. Even so, interoperability between BIM modeling software and structural analysis software is challenging. The study focuses on evaluating the ability to transfer data between BIM model software (Revit Structure) and structural analysis software commonly used in structural design (Robot Structural Analysis, ETABS, SAP2000); and the ability to apply BIM to structural design. The three main data transfer methods used are: Linking through native file, linking through API and linking through IFC file. A real case study in Vietnam is used for research. The conclusion shows that the first two data transmission methods give satisfactory results while the third transmission method gives unsatisfactory results when various data had been lost or changed. In addition, the deviation of the results of structural analysis between method using BIM model and the traditional design method is not significant, proving that the BIM model can be applied to structural analysis. This study will provide a reference for engineers or consultants to consider which software to use to apply for their project is most suitable. | en |
