| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | Climate change leads to global warming, extreme weather and rises in sea levels, which directly impacts human society and the natural environment. Although the tourism industry is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions, low-carbon tourism allows tourists to reduce their carbon emissions. This year, Kinmen has begun promoting a “low-carbon island” campaign, building low-carbon tourism areas, which is why Kinmen tourists are the focus of this study. This study aims to understand the correlation between the behavioral intent of Kinmen tourists to mitigate climate change and their low-carbon tourism behavior. At Kinnmen airport, this study distributed 401 questionnaires, 385 valid questionnaires were collected. The questionnaire consisted of five parts: tourist understanding of climate change, The Theory of Planned Behavior to mitigate climate change, low-carbon tourism behavioral intent, low-carbon tourism behavior and the background information of the tourist. The obtained data was then analyzed with descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis and correlation analysis. This study establishes a model to mitigate climate change behavior based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, and 52.1% of overall variances were able to be explained with the regression model. Climate change attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control demonstrated a positive influence with behavioral intent to mitigate climate change, with perceived behavioral control being the predominant influential factor. Behavioral intent to mitigate climate change has a positive correlation on both low-carbon tourism behavioral intent and low-carbon tourism behavior, while low-carbon tourism behavioral intent exhibited a positive correlation on low-carbon tourism behavior. Within low-carbon tourism behavioral intent, tourists showed the greatest intent for the category of low carbon consumption, followed by low carbon accommodation. The research outcome of this study puts forward relevant suggestions pertaining to the strengthening of the public's concept of climate change, environmental awareness, the promotion of a low-carbon tourism environment, as well as potential future research directions. | en |
