台灣TFT-LCD產業的競爭分析與發展策略

Abstract

台灣的面板產業曾號稱兆元產業，極盛時期被政府列為“兩兆雙星”中的一員，對全國的GDP具有高度的影響力。 整個台灣的面板產業在1998年開始進入高度成長期，整個產業經歷新競爭者進入市場、擴產、虧損、合併等，整個產業經歷過完整的循環，堪稱一個完整的產業典型。故本研究嘗試透過瞭解台灣面板公司的發展過程，比對日本、韓國、與中國面板公司的發展狀況，結合競爭策略分析的手法，提出台灣面板公司的競爭力為何，以及說明近幾年中國面板公司的崛起與可能帶來的威脅，新型顯示技術的影響等，進而提出台灣面板公司未來發展的策略建議。 本研究雖以面板公司為標的進行分析，但此種競爭力分析也可以適用於台灣的其他製造業，期望以此競爭力分析的結果做為其他產業的參考，引領台灣產業的向上提升。

Taiwan's TFT-LCD industry, once known as the trillion dollar’s industry in Taiwan. And it was listed by government as one of the "Two Trillion Two Stars Industries" which had big influence on GDP of Taiwan in the past. TFT-LCD industry in Taiwan has a high capacity expansion from 1998. There are a lot of activities in this industry, such as new competitor join, the expansion of each TFT-LCD companies, money loss, company merged, and so on. It can be a complete business cycle of an industry. Therefore, this study describes the development history of Taiwan TFT-LCD companies and compare with the development situation of Japan, Korea, and China’s TFT-LCD companies. Combine with the competitive strategy analysis theory, this paper tries to find out the advantage of development strategy in Taiwan’s TFT-LCD companies. Besides, it also mention about the rise of China's TFT-LCD companies and its threats in recent years, the impact of new display technology, and so on. Finally, this research gives suggestion of development strategies to Taiwan's TFT-LCD companies. Even if it focuses on the analysis of TFT-LCD companies, but this kind of analysis result also can be applied to the other industries in Taiwan. And hopefully, it can be a reference of upgrade for the other industries in Taiwan.
