Abstract: | A multi-sided beauty platform of Katiara (www.katiara.com) is a business plan for a web-based outlet of J-BICS Trading Co., Ltd., a Thai conglomerate with diversified business lines, performing as a multi-sided beauty platform serving four customer sides- online shoppers, vendors and suppliers of health and beauty products, beauty content providers (beauty professionals, dermatologists, makeup artists, and bloggers.
The method of doing business plan includes the study of market information and current players in both off-line and online beauty stores to formulate the platform’s strategy and financial projections. Furthermore, Katiara’s Value Curve was form to define the platform’s distinguish values and to stand out from the current players. As an early-mover with the strong network externality and distinct values of convenience, variety of products, sales promotion, and exclusivity, the financial feasibility study indicates that Katiara will be able to gain a foothold in the market by breaking even in the fifth month of the third year of its establishment and build up its competitive advantage over time. |
