Treat out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patient within first few critical minutes with an automated external defibrillator (AED) can strongly increase survival. While planning optimal AED locations, population flow in a indoor environment is understudied. Here we describe a spatial-temporal locating model that considers population flow in indoor environment to solve optimal AED location problem. Our model is based on indoor transportation network to maximize the covered demand over all time periods, with a 4 minutes AED covering radius. Our results suggest the AED allocation strategies with considering population flow in indoor environment. Such installations can raise OHCA patient survival potential with finite AEDs. |
