Abstract: 本研究旨在探討BIM(Building Information Modeling)技術在降低建築工程碳排放方面的應用與成效。
This study aims to explore the application and effectiveness of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in reducing carbon emissions in construction projects. With the escalating issues of global warming and climate change, the construction industry, as one of the major sources of carbon emissions, urgently needs to seek effective carbon reduction measures. This paper takes the bundled construction project of Zhonghe District police and fire social housing by the Ministry of the Interior National Land Administration as a case study to investigate the feasibility and actual effects of implementing BIM technology in the design phase of residential complex projects.
BIM technology has gradually become an emerging design and construction method in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction, with its main advantages being increased project efficiency, cost savings, and improved coordination among stakeholders. However, Taiwan still faces many challenges in promoting BIM, such as lack of management awareness, unclear contract requirements, and adjustments in rights and obligations.
In this study, BIM technology is applied to quickly generate the quantities and volumes of relevant materials, assess the differences in carbon emissions between different materials, and conduct data analysis and comparison. The results show that BIM technology can not only effectively reduce carbon emissions during the construction process but also minimize material waste and over-ordering through precise resource management. Additionally, BIM technology can facilitate real-time energy monitoring and management during the operation and maintenance phases of buildings, further reducing carbon emissions.
In summary, the application of BIM technology in construction projects not only helps to reduce carbon emissions but also improves project efficiency and quality while reducing costs. However, the widespread application of BIM technology still requires policy support and professional training for practitioners to promote sustainable development in the construction industry.
