Based on the past research, the thesis focused on artifacts with object-chanting inscriptions by the Qianlong Emperor (r. 1735-1796) of the Qing Dynasty, attempting to clarify its nature, development and cultural meaning, and to present the phenomenon that it has developed more and more complicated meaning over time. First of all, the thesis points out that there were two types of imperial inscriptions artifacts made by the Qianlong Emperor during his reign. Those inscribed with object-chanting poems and prose showed the emperor's desire to specialize the inscribed objects, which is different from those inscribed with non-object-chanting poems - the latter focuses more on the display function of inscriptions. The thesis further introduces chronological observations, and analyzes the development of artifacts with object-chanting inscriptions by the Qianlong Emperor, as well as the knowledge base and political implication of the emperor's inscriptions, which is closely related to the historical context. Finally, based on the above, this thesis further discusses the function and meaning of the imperial object-chanting inscriptions of the Qianlong Emperor, and points out that the emperor construct reality by combining 'objects' and 'poetry' together, this inseparable and close relationship between 'objects' and 'poetry' enhances reality to the viewer, so that the knowledge and beliefs that the emperor wants to convey through poetry and prose become a tangible reality that can be touched and perceived by the viewer, and will be passed down to future generations forever.
