dc.description.abstract本論文自馬拉佛瑞斯(Lambros Malafouris)所提出的物質互動理論(Material Engagement Theory)及並啟符號(enactive sign)出發,探討傑弗里·喬叟代表作《坎特伯雷故事集》裡《騎士隨從的故事》中,物質所具有的能動性和型態如何觸發和影響故事的編寫。我提出《騎士隨從的故事》的結構和劇情來自於並啟物件的故事性和說故事者的認知之間所發生的互動。 我首先爬梳關於這些物件在喬叟時代的使用方法(affordance)和文化形態的文獻,以驗證這些物件在《騎士隨從的故事》中所展現的特性是有實際依據,在分析騎士隨從的認知,論述他作為說故事者如何仰賴和受限於這些物件的並啟性。第一章描述銅馬和劍及他們所個別帶來的焦慮如何影響了故事情節。第二章討論鏡子和戒指的物質特性及他們登場後如何推動故事情節。第三章分析《騎士隨從的故事》第二部分出現的鷹籠,提出故事敘述完終將成為並啟物件,擁有獨立述說故事的能力。zh_TW
