Artificial Intelligence has been a hot wave all over the world in recent years. All the Tech giants steadily invest on Artificial Intelligence research from 2011/12, and blast from 2016/17. Although starting late, Taiwan Government has allocated NTD 16 Billion on artificial intelligence industry to speed up the development to catch the momentum of Artificial Intelligence. IC design houses in Taiwan, which rank No.2 of total chip-design sales in 2017, have many advantages competing over the world. Why do we need to take this advantage to bring Taiwan into the Artificial Intelligence industry? How? This business research will analyze the business ecosystem of current Artificial Intelligence industry and use Five-Forces Porter model to illustrate the advantage and necessity of Taiwan IC design house migrate to Artificial Intelligence era. Also, this research takes Mediatek as a case study to predict their further strategy. |
