Abstract: | Beside the development of green building, it requires architects to receive a significant amount of knowledge and information, and there should be a way to handle them appropriately in each phase of the project. This essay focuses on exploring, analyzing, and evaluating the factors that influence the application of green practices to the conceptual design phase then it identifies the requirements and information needed to serve the design. From the questionnaire of attitudes, approaches, and current situation in architectural design to the development of an experimental tool, the author wants to find out a more straightforward approach to environmental factors through the development of a visualization tool, especially wind. With a little bit more help from tools which can give them easy access to weather data, a good way to visualize it, and maybe recommendations, it might help the overall awareness of green building practices and encourage them to design for green even when the boss does not ask it. In this case, wind information (direction, frequency, wind speed) will be visualized on the conceptual model by wind-rose, which is the basis for the facade design with the application of natural ventilation solutions. For an overall review and as a test for speculative analysis in an essay, a wind direction visualization tool is developed based on criteria defined through the interview process. Along with the process of testing and revising, the author not only wants to provide an experiential environment for applying of green practices but also to identify issues that need to pay attention, lessons learned and recommendations for similar research topics in the future. |
