Abstract: | 物聯網的應用大多是基於串流的資料,串流資料在經過處理後會返回結果到物聯網的環境中。雲端計算缺乏物聯網的串流資料處理能力,例如:串流資料從網路的邊際傳到雲端會有很大的網路延遲以及對於骨幹網路的頻寬消耗。為了解決這個問題,現在有很多解決方案利用邊際計算或是霧計算來降低網路的延遲。但是採用邊際計算及霧計算的環境中,串流資料從資料來源到不同的運算單元的距離、網路延遲都不同,以及不同處理單元的處理能力也有所不同,因此如何選擇一個適當的處理單元來處理串流資料是我們想解決的問題。
我們提出了一個對延遲敏感的網路中介服務,這個網路中介服務是一個以「主題」為基礎的發布、訂閱消息系統,我們在這個中介服務上運作「對延遲敏感的負載分配演算法」,這個演算法能夠(1)減少負載分配的時間以及(2)在網路延遲及計算延遲之間權衡,使得負載的分配時間能達到一個較平衡的結果。 Most applications of Internet of Things (IoT) are based on continuous data streams. The data streams of IoT are processed and responded to the environment of IoT. However, cloud computing is not feasible for IoT applications that require fast or even real-time response because the network latency is big. Many solutions introduce the concept of edge or fog computing to respond fast to the IoT context or even to support real-time IoT applications. In the case of edge or fog computing, the distance and the network transmission latency between data sources and processing units varies. Also, the computation capability of different processing units varies. How to dispatch workload to a feasible processing unit is the problem we are interested in. We proposed a latency-sensitive broker. The latency-sensitive broker is a topic-based publish/subscribe system which adopted the concept of consumer group from Apache Kafka. We proposed a latency-sensitive message dispatching (LSMD) algorithm which tries to (1) minimize average workload dispatch latency from the broker to the processing units and (2) leverage between network and computational latency to achieve a balanced result. |
