| Abstract: | Since mid-1980’s, there has been complicated and uncertain about industry investment and manufacture management because of the fast changing political, social, and economical situation. Besides transforming business model, quite a number of oversea investments were carried out. With warming relations with China, Taiwanese government allows investment to China; therefore, China became the major country Taiwanese make investment.
In recent years, Chinese government lowers the export tax rebate, and eliminates the low- technology and high-pollution manufacturing. Taiwanese investors lost their profit consequently. Paying security deposit for importing restricted goods and executing strictly foreign exchange regulation caused the backlog of the fund. The appreciation of RMA and financing squeeze lead to the revenue shrank. Moreover, many Taiwanese business owners have gone bankrupt or pulled out of China because of the global financial crisis. Most of the Taiwanese electronic manufactures are small and medium-scale. Without sufficient funds, business owners need long-term strategic plan before investing. Business owners tend to move their business to Taiwan year by year because the investment condition is improved. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the reasons for investment and how to attract more business opportunities in Taiwan or keep investing in China. This study is aimed to probe the reasons of attracting electronic investment from different perspective, and use Michael Porter’s diamond theory to design surveys, and interview questions then practice the survey and questions in real cases. According to the results of surveys and interviews, Taiwanese business owners are willing to invest because Taiwan has excellent R&D abilities, highly educated personnel, and investment incentive while China has completed supplier chain, preferential policies, large domestic markets, lower labor and land cost. |
