摘要: | Sharing economy has becoming a popular and widely known concept and Uber Eats is one of the examples. Uber Eats connects restaurants and drivers through Uber Eats’ online platform to deliver services to consumers. Instead of having their own vehicles to provide delivery service, Uber Eats connect drivers, who offer delivery service by using their own vehicle. This not only reduces the initial capital required for Uber Eats comparing to traditional food delivery service companies, but also reduces future asset management burden. Unlike the traditional food delivery service companies, what Uber Eats really offers is an online platform for food delivery, instead of food delivery. This aims to create a win-win situation for all the participants under this business model. The rise of sharing economy is seemed by some people as an effective way that can bring financially inferior individuals to have a better life and create a win-win situation. However, can sharing economy really help financially inferior individual? What are the short-term and long-term effects behind this new concept of economy? To answer these questions, this thesis will target those individuals who are able to share idle or available assets. People who are in extreme poverty and do not have idle or available assets will be excluded from this thesis analysis. Uber Eats is selected to be the representative of sharing economy business model for analyzing whether this type of business model can help financially inferior individuals in Taiwan to improve their financial condition by becoming Uber Eats’ delivery partner. If this business model can help to improve individual’s financial condition, the next question would be this improvement be long-term or this is merely short-term effects. |
