跨國銀行之企業道德實踐與經營績效之比較研究

Abstract

In the highly competitive global banking industry, we have faced ceaseless financial scandals for the last few decades. Above all things, the Global Financial Crisis from 2007 to 2009 raised multiple questions regarding the moral hazard of the industry. And the fundamental reason of the misconduct started from pursuing performance regardless of means. Therefore this thesis aimed to research the relationship between the ethics practice and business performance by the comparison study of the world’s top banks. The research factors of the Ethics Practice include the codes analysis, the number of scandals, and the amounts paid for violations and settlements. Also the factors of the Business Performance include ROE, revenue growth rate, and the stock performance. We hope this study can contribute to the major players in the industry to reconsider their methods of driving performance.
