Composing parts of the contents from different images into a single image is an essential image editing application. It usually contains a lot of regions to be composited, and each region may has different compositing goals. Existing compositing methods usually require a lot of compositing operations, which is tedious for users. This paper presents a user-assisted image fusion method for selectively composing the contents of several input images. With the proposed method, a user can easily select the desired regions for compositing by specifying a number of sparse strokes. Additionally, the user is allowed to adjust the blending weights for different regions to handle different compositing environments. By smoothly propagating these specifications among different regions, the selected regions can be smoothly blended. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by demonstrating a wide range of challenging cases using our method and comparing with existing methods. |
