摘要: | 自19世紀中期網路商業化以來,大量的網路服務革命改變了人們的習慣。其中,為了有效率的遞送資訊內容及服務,內容傳遞網路(Content Delivery Network, CDN)技術應運而生。在將資料由伺服器傳送至使用者時,應用CDN技術可最佳化這個過程的傳送時間。但這不意味在手機用戶上傳及分享檔案時,這個技術能有效的提供服務。事實上,由社群事件產生的大量人潮所導致的影音和圖片無法即時上傳問題,在目前現有的網路服務中,較無適合的解決方案。因此在本論文中,我們設計了智慧型負載代理服務(Smart Offloading Proxy service,SOP service),藉由在無線存取點上加入代理伺服器(Proxy)進行上傳輔助,讓更多使用者能儘快完成自己的上傳工作並離開無線網路,從而降低無線網路的壅塞狀況,解決大量人潮所帶來的困境。為了評量SOP service的效率,我們模擬無線網路會經由長途的廣域網路(WAN)將使用者的上傳資料送至目標伺服器。經由初步的實驗觀察,在無線網路頻寬為54Mbps,整個系統平均每10秒多出一個上傳需求時,WAN上若有了在1%的error rate,每使用者需要約100秒傳送10MB的檔案。相對的,當WAN上無任何error rate時,每個使用者只需花不到10秒傳送10MB的檔案。在本論文中也同時提出數個應用於SOP service的排程方法,以有效分配無線環境上的頻寬,降低使用者上傳檔案的時間。 Since the commercialization of the Internet in mid-1990, human culturehas changed dramatically due to booming of innovative online services. Tocope with demands of network service providers to effectively and efficientlydeliver contents and services to their clients, content distribution networktechnologies have been developed. These technologies have been optimizedto transfer data from servers to users. It is not meant to support mobile usersto upload and share real-time captured multimedia contents with his/her peersthrough social network services. It is even more difficult for the current net-work to support mobile users in a hot social event to share live pictures andvideos to their social network in real time. In this paper, we present our designof smart offloading proxy (SOP) service for wireless content uploading overcrowd events by adding an uploading proxy server at the WiFi base station,to improve user’s experience in uploading files to remote servers.To test efficiency of SOP, we simulate a mobile network environment withwireless access network connected through a long-haul WAN to the targetsocial network server. Preliminary experiments show that with an error rateof 1% in the WAN, a mobile user may experience long file-uploading timeof approximately 100 seconds in uploading a 10 MB file when a 54 MbpsWiFi media is simultaneously accessed by users randomly arrived at the inter-arrival time of 10 seconds. In contrast, it takes less than 10 seconds to uploadthe file if the WiFi is lightly loaded and the WAN is error free. We alsoshow that by properly scheduling WiFi bandwidth to the mobile users, thefile-uploading time can be reduced. |
