Abstract: 次世代行動通訊系統中,由第三代合作夥伴計劃所帶領的通訊標準佔有相當重要的地位。他們定義了多媒體廣播群播服務來傳送影音等多媒體資料。單頻網的技術也被納入其中。但是,隨著多媒體資料對頻寬的需求越來越高,需要有效的方式來減少所需要的無線資源。可適性視訊編碼允許我們把一部影片,壓縮成多個的影像層,隨著使用者所收到的層數增加,影像的品質也會提升。結合可適性視訊編碼和單頻網的調控,我們可以進一步提升使用者的滿意度,同時減少系統的資源消耗。我們提出了使用最長共同子字串的方式,來評估系統中可供單頻網傳輸所使用的頻寬;同時提出新的演算法來設置單頻網的涵蓋範圍與對應的影像層。只要有目前的可用無線網路資源及使用者的滿意度資訊,此演算可以增進系統的整體滿意度與資源利用效率。除此之外,我們也提供了一個模擬平臺,用於將影音資訊傳送到模擬系統內,同時根據所提出的演算法進行單頻網設置,最後將取得的資料傳輸結果還原成影片,用以分析其效能。
Long Term Evolution (LTE), is the next-generation technology for cellular communication. Single Frequency Network (SFN) data distribution is available in the Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) specification. To transmit H.264 scalable video coding (SVC) video layers in LTE MBMS, we need to consider the integration of SFN configuration and video layer distribution. We propose a model to formulate the SFN configuration among multiple cells with a common set of sub-carriers. Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) is applied to find out the maximum available resource for the SFN. Besides, we also propose an algorithm to distribute each video layers over distinguished SFN. Given the available SFN resource, we can properly adjust the number of video layers and the coverage of the corresponding SFN, enhancing the resource utility in LTE MBMS system. A simulation platform is also presented to carry out the video delivery over the aforementioned system.
