轉換跑道: 經濟合作架構協議(ECFA)對台灣自行車產業之影響

Abstract

本篇論文將著眼於台灣與中國於2010年所簽訂的ECFA，降低某些特定商品項目的關稅。論文重點將透過波特五力分析模型(Michael Porter’s Five Forces framework)來觀察台灣自行車產業 - 從過去到未來。ECFA的連鎖效應對於台灣自行車產業於國內即國際市場的佔有率會友什麼影響？此外，一個很重要的問題是，是否台灣自行車產業在台灣市場的地位會被大陸自行車廠商取代，猶如當初台灣廠商取代美國自行車廠商在市場的地位。歷史是否會重演?我接下來會討論台灣自行車產業所關心的問題及期保持樂觀的潛在原因，並依照我的分析為台灣自行車產業的未來提出建議。

This thesis looks at the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) signed between Taiwan and Mainland China in 2010, reducing tariffs on certain agreed items. The focus will be on the Taiwanese bicycle industry – from its history to its future – through the prism Michael Porter’s Five Forces framework. What will the effects of ECFA be when it comes to the market share Taiwanese bicycle companies could gain or lose domestically and abroad? Also, this paper will look at whether history could repeat itself: could the Taiwanese companies be making the mistakes of the American firms that outsourced, and ultimately lost, business to Taiwan? Potential causes for concerns and optimism within the Taiwanese bicycle industry will then be considered, along with future recommendations based on my analysis.
