Title: 溫度回推法檢視海洋營養鹽歷史資料之準確性
Evaluation of historical ocean nutrient data by correlating with temperature using a regression method

Abstract: 本研究以Microsoft Office Excel 2003作為工具,完成一可展示海洋水文資料的平台。此平台以Office Excel 2003 內建的Visual Basic for Applications(VBA)程式語言為基礎,在介面裡編寫一套可檢視海洋水文資料庫的巨集,執行此巨集便可快速閱覽資料庫裡的數據。本研究另一重點以溫度作為變數,建立一個可迴歸海洋營養鹽的函數,在展示平台裡以該函數迴歸的營養鹽濃度檢視過去歷史海洋營養鹽的垂直分佈。因為營養鹽的垂直分佈與溫度鏡像相似,且溫度的垂直分佈有良好的連續性,故選用溫度作為變數。將營養鹽與溫度的倒數(1 / T)作圖,以此圖作為雛型,可推測出營養鹽濃度為
[Nut](1/T)=A(1-EXP[-B(1/T+C)^N])+D(1/T+E)
其中 A、B、C、D、E及n 為使用者自行調整之係數。本研究依地域與範圍將西太平洋與南海東北部沿岸分成六個區塊並設立六組係數,其中較靠近台灣沿海的有兩組,一組為西太平洋台灣沿岸,其硝酸鹽濃度的係數為AN=42、BN=34、CN=-0.035、nN=1.4、DN=-7、EN=-0.1,磷酸鹽為AP=2.94、BP=34、CP=-0.035、nP=1.4、DP=-0.49、EP=-0.1,矽酸鹽為,ASi=152、BSi=17、CSi=-0.035、nSi=1.5、DSi=-0.25、ESi=-14;另一組為南海東北部沿岸,其硝酸鹽濃度的係數為AN=37.7、BN=35、CN=-0.034、nN=1.3、DN=-0、EN=0,磷酸鹽為AP=2.65、BP=34、CP=-0.034、nP=1.3、DP=-0、EP=0,矽酸鹽為,ASi=152、BSi=17、CSi=-0.034、nSi=1.4、DSi=0、ESi=0。以該函數回推出的營養鹽濃度與深度作圖,可得到一連續性的營養鹽垂直分佈,並以此與過去數據比較。此函數適用於硝酸鹽、磷酸鹽及矽酸鹽。
A data-retrieving display platform has been implemented on Microsoft Excel worksheet which enables one to examine historical nutrient ocean data and to make appropriate evaluation. The retrieving process is based on the Visual Basic for Application (VBA) and nutrient data are correlated to a function of the reciprocal of temperature (unit:℃). The suggestion formula for nutrient concentrations (including NO3, PO4 and Si) is:
[Nut](1/T)=A(1-EXP[-B(1/T+C)^N])+D(1/T+E)
Where A, B, C, n, D and E are empirical constants varying from area to area.
According to the regression results of the INDOPAC leg 2 and 3 data, the best fitting constants for the Western Philippine Sea are AN=42, BN=34, CN=-0.035、nN=1.4, DN=-7, EN=-0.1 for nitrate, AP=2.94, BP=34, CP=-0.035, nP=1.4, DP=-0.49, EP=-0.1 for phosphate, ASi=152, BSi=17, CSi=-0.035, nSi=1.5, DSi=-0.25, ESi=-14 for silicate. As to the South China Sea, the corresponding constants are AN=37.7, BN=35, CN=-0.034, nN=1.3, DN=0, EN=0 for nitrate, AP=2.65, BP=34, CP=-0.034, nP=1.3, DP=0, EP=0 for phosphate, ASi=152, BSi=17, CSi=-0.034, nSi=1.4, DSi=0, ESi=0 for silicate.
With the above equation, profiles of nutrients can be drawn and overlapped with that plotted from original data. These facilitate the evaluation of the accuracy of nutrient data before or after an expedition cruise.
