This study attempts to analyze the relations among farmers’ computer ability, self-efficacy, task difficulty, performance, and intention to use system in training environment. A total of 23 farmers were enrolled in the 「Farming Management Information System (FMIS) ver5.01」training course.
Findings of the study show that farmers’ ability to perform computer skills has significant effects on their computer self-efficacy and FMIS self-efficacy; and their computer self-efficacy and FMIS self-efficacy have significant effects on their perceived task difficulty, whereas their computer ability and self-efficacy have no effects on performance. Besides, training can improve farmers’ FMIS self-efficacy. Moreover, only farmers’ perceived usefulness of FMIS has significant effects on their intention to use system.
Results of the study suggest that trainers should understand trainees’ learning needs and help them to be more confident; give trainees encouragements, feedbacks, abundant opportunities to practice, and integrated understanding of both concepts and operation skills.
