| Abstract: | Quadrics play an important role in geometry, and it is natural to discover how to construct an ellipsoid. The problem was solved by Staude, who found a thread construction for an ellipsoid. In the beginning of this paper, I discuss the duality between confocal family of quadrics and euclidean pencil. Second, I introduce Jacobi-Chasles theorem which has close relation with our main topic. Finally, I investigate Staude’s thread construction of ellipsoid. |
