回到本壘－棒球於都市日常生活的空間意涵

Abstract

本文從都市規畫政策與空間生產，探討美國、日本、臺灣三國在棒球場規畫於空間生產的「國球」規劃論述如何由奇觀空間(Space of Spectacle)、歷史空間(Space of History)、及遊戲空間(Space of Game)，再現於棒球場規畫空間戰術上，論述棒球運動地景與都市日常生活的共生，並動態地體現上述三種戰術空間意義，反思棒球於都市規畫中的角色，提出都市規畫政策建議及願景。據此，棒球場空間切入研究發問拆解棒球場既有的空間屬性，讓地方及地景兩個觀點進場，同時融合棒球場的社會生產與關係補足既有都市空間規劃針對運動整體規劃及使用者經驗觀察的不足。所以，將依序從「棒球場的空間生產」、「棒球場的空間意義」與「棒球場的空間參與」三個不同空間向度與使用者觀點解答研究發問。同時，空間尺度由大至小依序論述大空間尺度下棒球場區位與區域都市計劃的生產關係，闡釋政治經濟結構面向的棒球空間生產出的都市日常樣貌；中尺度空間描述棒球場與城市的文化及社會空間意義，棒球場的空間感塑造個別都市文化認同的意義；小尺度則以社區棒球場與參與者兩者之間的互動關係生成的空間意義再結構為主題。由上述三者的論述解釋棒球在都市日常生活的意涵，重構「運動空間」於不同都市空間尺度規劃領域可能的規劃策略與手法。

This thesis departs from urban planning policy and the production of space to examine how the United States, Japan, and Taiwan represent their planning of baseball stadiums vis-à-vis the "national pastime" discourse of the production of space in their strategies for building baseball stadiums through the lens of "Space of Spectacle," "Space of History," and "Space of Game," elucidating the co-existence of the landscapes of baseball sport and urban daily life, and actively embodies the meani. Consequently, the research of the baseball stadium poses questions that deconstruct the discourse of baseball stadium planning, allowing the perspective of "place" and "landscape" to enter, while simultaneously merging with the social production and relationship of the baseball stadium to compensate for the lack of overall picture of strategy of sport development and observations of user experience in the system of urban planning. Consequently, the thesis will approach its research question from three distinct spatial dimensions and user perspectives, namely "the production of baseball stadium," "the meaning of baseball stadium," and "the participation of baseball stadium." In the meantime, it will explain various scales from macro to micro: the relations of production between the location of baseball stadium and regional planning in the city under macro spatial scale and urban dailylife produced by baseball space from the perspective of political economy; the meaning within a cultural and social sense between baseball stadium and the city under mseo scale, and the meaning of the recognition of individual urban culture that is shaped by baseball stadium under micro scale. Through the three aforementioned discourses, the thesis explains the significance of baseball in urban daily life and attempts to restructure the possible planning strategy and method that can be implemented at various scales of urban planning in regards to "sport space."
