策略投票中的資訊選擇

Abstract

本文探究關鍵推理對於選民在面對政策的多維不確定性時的資訊選擇的影響。在對稱的環境下，選民的資訊選擇具有替代性，即選民有傾向學習具有較少學習者的維度。與現有排除了關鍵推理的結果相反，本文點出當所有維度對每個選民都同樣重要時，一些選民更偏好學習其中一個維度。即使其中一個維度比另一個維度更重要，也有一些選民在均衡中學習較不重要的維度。

In this paper, I study the effect of pivotal reasoning on voters' information choices when voters' are facing multidimensional uncertainty about a policy. Under a symmetric environment, I show that voters' information choices are substitute in nature, i.e. voters have stronger incentives to investigate the dimension with fewer learners. In contrast to the existing results which rule out pivotal reasoning, I show that when all dimensions are equally important to each voter, there exists voters who strictly prefer learning one dimension to another. Even when one of the dimension is more important than another, there are some voters learning about the less important dimension in equilibrium.
