In conventional agriculture, synthetic herbicides have been used for weed control. However, in recent years, the increasing emphasis on environmental friendliness and human health, coupled with the emergence of resistance to weeds, the use of chemically synthesized herbicides has been increasingly questioned, and there is an urgent need to find alternative solutions, so the discovery and development of natural products has become more important. Lactic acid, in addition to being an adjuvant to pesticides, has the potential to be an active ingredient in herbicides. This study used leaf discs of Bidens pilosa L. var. radiata Sch, Miscanthus floridulus and Vigna angularis as materials. , latic acid caused a decrease in Fv/Fm, ΦPSII, and ΦNPQ of the three materials, indicating that the plants were damaged. The efficiency of using light energy and photoprotective ability were also reduced. Lactic acid also caused a decrease in chlorophyll content and an increase in antioxidants, indicating that lactic acid can cause phytotoxicity. The toxicity of lactic acid was lower than pelargonic acid. This result confirms that lactic acid causes plant damage and therefore has the potential to be an active ingredient of herbicides. In the future, it can focus on enhancing toxicity and mechanism of action on plants. |
