Abstract

皮耶爾．貝爾是一位十七世紀重要的批判性哲學家，其哲學論證經常直接地回應現實社會中的問題，不僅激起當時代的許多討論，還提供給啟蒙時代及後世哲學家各種啟發。在其思想中，其有關宗教寬容的討論最為特出，對世人的影響也最深遠。本文希望在較長時段的歷史脈絡中分析貝爾有關宗教不寬容的反思式思考，以期能更清楚地理解貝爾思想的原貌，以及其與時代的關係。

Pierre Bayle is a significant critical philosopher in 17th century, whose thought responded directly to the social problems in reality. He not only induced many discussions among contemporaries, but also inspired various philosophers from the Enlightenment and later times. The arguments about religious toleration are the most considerable and profound ones. This thesis tries to talk about the reflections about religious intolerance in a long historical context, in order to comprehend Bayle’s thought in a more appropriate way and to understand the interactions between Bayle and his time.
