zh_TW
In the post-pandemic era, countries around the world face numerous challenges, with extreme weather events triggered by climate change becoming a cross-border issue. For human societies where over half the population resides in urban areas, maintaining the quality of life for urban residents has become an urgent issue. To address these challenges, international organizations have designated urban forestry as a priority for collaborative efforts across countries, and included topics such as green infrastructure, community participation, and urban ecosystem management on the agenda. This study utilizes bibliometric analysis to compare the development of the international urban forestry research field and the research focus of urban forestry research in Taiwan, revealing the commonalities and differences in research trends, topic selection, and methodology. We used the Web of Science core database for literature retrieval and employed VOSviewer software to create a scientific knowledge map. The results indicate that both fields place a high value on environmental and climate issues. International research focuses on environmental impacts such as climate change, vegetation, and air pollution, and emphasizes the relationship between biodiversity and land use. Taiwan, however, focuses more on the concrete aspects of environmental benefits, such as carbon sequestration and air purification. In urban planning, international literature emphasizes the overall planning of green infrastructure, tending to explore broader issues such as the relationship between urban forests and human health. Taiwan focuses on the practical planning of urban green spaces, showcasing a more detailed and localized characteristic, particularly in urban tree management and economic value assessment. In research methods, while both fields value the application of remote sensing technology and geographic information systems, international research emphasizes the application of emerging technologies such as machine learning. In the future, Taiwanese research may need to focus on localized research on urban forestry and climate change adaptation strategies, the role of urban forestry in enhancing urban resilience, intelligent urban forestry management systems integrating Internet of Things technology, long-term studies on the impact of urban forests on the physical and mental health of urban residents, and the role of urban forests in promoting social equity and environmental justice.en
