dc.description.abstract | The Ukraine-Russia conflict has caused great changes in global geopolitics and defense markets. These dynamics have reshaped security priorities, leading to increasing defense spending, and opportunities for new players in the industry. This research will focus on the strategic rise of Hanwha, a South Korean defense conglomerate, as it adapts itself to take advantage of these changing conditions, quickly expanding its presence and establish itself as an emerging player in the global defense market.
Key findings of this research include how the Ukraine-Russia conflict has redefined global security priorities and changed demand for defense equipment. The study identifies the factors behind Hanwha’s smart adaptation, such as its market positioning, business strategies, technological competitiveness, and partnerships with both international and domestic governments. It also examines Hanwha’s role in supporting global security objectives and how it has effectively navigated competition against the established Western global defense giants. Besides analyzing Hanwha’s achievement, this study also looks into the challenges and risks the company faces, and concludes with recommendations to support Hanwha’s sustained growth in the long-term. Through a detailed analysis of Hanwha’s rise amid tensions, this study hopes to offer clear insights into how defense firms could adapt to geopolitical uncertainty and thrive in a rapidly evolving global market. | en |
