This thesis examines the relationship between water security and food security within a global context, focusing on comparing the regions of the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa (MENA-SSA) to the rest of the world. Drawing on cross-country data in 2019, this study investigates how variations in different aspects of water security affect food security indicators. While the results highlight regional differences, the findings underscore the complexity and interconnectedness of water and food systems. The analysis ultimately reinforces the importance of employing more comprehensive and nuanced approaches to better capture the complex nature of water security and its impact on ensuring sustainability and food security around the globe.en
