| zh_TW |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis investigates the strategic approaches that have positioned T-Company as a global leader in the semiconductor Foundry industry. T-Company was selected for this case study due to its unparalleled impact on the semiconductor ecosystem, achieved through sustained technological leadership, manufacturing excellence, and strong customer relationships. The research is motivated by the rapid growth in semiconductor demand, driven by advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), High Performance Computing (HPC), and recent geopolitical shifts impacting the semiconductor supply chain. These changes and dynamics have created both challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the need for strategic resilience and innovation in maintaining competitive positioning.
Using a case study methodology, this research applies various strategic frameworks, including Porter’s Five Forces to evaluate the industry competition, while the BCG Matrix, Porter’s Competitive Strategy, and Strategic Activity Diagram to evaluate T-Company’s competitive position, resource allocation, and portfolio management. Through these frameworks, the study examines T-Company’s strengths in Advanced Logic, Specialty, and Advanced Packaging technologies, exploring how these segments interact and drive overall growth. The findings reveal T-Company’s effective use of technology investments, manufacturing excellence, and customer trust as key competitive advantages, supporting its sustainable growth in a highly competitive market. The study concludes that T-Company is well-positioned to thrive in the evolving market. Its existing strategy of “specializing and perfecting in what it does best”, and constantly applies the “differentiation” competitive strategy have positioned it in a solid position in the face of future competitions. The study does not propose any major strategic changes, but offers recommendations for enhancements, including further investment to widen its technology and manufacturing leadership, exercising greater caution in global expansion, further strengthening its financial position, and accelerating digital transformation. These insights provide valuable implications for stakeholders in the semiconductor industry, suggesting that a focus on core competencies and customer alignment can drive sustained success despite rapid industry changes and competition. | en |
