zh_TW
Regular exercise improves health and maintains both physical and psychological conditions, so many behavioral change models are integrated into health promotion programs and courses to improve the efficiency of exercise promotion. This qualitative study aimed to analyze the effects of exercise promotion on 32 senior manager participants after finishing a 16-week comprehensive fitness course from the National Taiwan University-Executive Master of Business Management (NTU-EMBA). Semi-structured interviews were conducted, transcribed, and interpreted using the Transtheoretical Model (TTM). Each participant's change of exercise patterns was classified, and the sensation of processes of change (POC), along with exercise pros and cons from course components, were analyzed. The results revealed that this NTU-EMBA fitness course could promote the exercise of senior managers and that the course components, such as the involvement of sports competitions, were effective. Specifically, the POC “helping relationships and “self-liberation” were helpful for the promotion and maintenance of exercise of senior managers. This study proposed a behavioral change model application to evaluate the effect of exercise promotion of a fitness course and health strategies, including inter-relationship and goal announcement, which may help promote the exercise of senior managers.en
