常態推想：冷戰台灣與日常性的氛圍

Abstract

本論文提出「日常性的氛圍」一詞以理解台灣的冷戰文化生產。本論文關注一九六〇至七〇年代的台灣文學、電影與攝影藝術，並提出這些作品是「常態推想」的表現。這些作品都產製於非常態狀態下的「自由中國」，並以不同的方式框架了人文主義預設下的個人與世界（或許多世界）的相遇，也同時將這個預設中的世界性與個人性問題化。本論文援引當代環境研究、媒介研究與情動理論的理論資源，嘗試描述這些相遇的屬性、（媒介）形式與結構，包括其日常、荒謬、重複與獨一性。最終本論文探問的是：這些作品塑造了什麼樣的世界，這些世界如何運行與思考，而在諸多相遇與中介之間，推想／思辨的未來又如何可能？

This dissertation proposes “atmospheres of ordinariness” to understand cold war cultural productions in Taiwan. Focusing mainly on literatures, films and photographic art produced in 1960s and 70s Taiwan, it considers these texts elucidations of “unexceptional speculations.” Produced in state-of-exception “Free China,” in different ways all these works frame situations of humanism-defined individuals encountering a world (or worlds) and at the same time problematize the worldhood and the subjecthood presupposed in humanist inquiry. Building its theoretical ground in environmental studies, media studies and affect theories, this dissertation attempts to build a vocabulary to describe the elements, (mediated) forms and structures of these encounters: their ordinariness, absurdity, repetitiveness, and singularity. It eventually asks: what kind of worlds these texts forms or mediate, how do these worlds operate and think, and what kind of speculative futures could all these encounters and mediations entail?
