| zh_TW |
| dc.description.abstract | When countries around the world were suffering from COVID 19 pandemic during the first half of 2020, the Taiwanese government and the civil society had worked together to maintain a relatively normal pace of life. Although Taiwan’s coronavirus response was highly-regarded, Taiwan’s marketplace of ideas was still plagued by conspiracy theory which had been attributed to ill governmental response on the pandemic by foreign study. By using quantitative method to analyze an online survey collected during May 2020 in Taiwan, this study tries to figure out the reason why the Taiwanese public believed in COVID conspiracy theory under completely different pandemic severity. This study finds out that ethnic collective narcissism is highly associated with COVID conspiratorial belief. In the meantime, Taiwanese ethnic identity and COVID risk perception could manifest the image threat perception for those ethnical narcissists, while the Taiwanese ethnic identity has obvious moderation effect on the ethnic collective narcissism. To sum up, this study offers recommendation for future studies on relative issues. | en |
