5G時代下台灣伺服器產業國際競爭力之研究

Abstract

台灣被譽為「伺服器王國」，以工業品牌伺服器（ODM Direct）的商業模式出貨高達全球三成，在5G時代的到來下，各國在科技的創新和專利競賽上競爭激烈，對伺服器產業造成市場變化。因此本研究主要目的在於，了解台灣伺服器產業國際競爭力之關鍵因素，並提出5G時代下即將面臨的挑戰，藉此提供未來的商業策略，在5G的發展下，維持台灣的伺服器產業的國際競爭力。 本研究首先於國際競爭力、產業分析、全球供應鏈與價值鏈面向進行文獻探討，再者針對台灣伺服器產業之國際競爭力進行分析，統整出台灣伺服器產業的六大關鍵成功因素和17項子因素，並比較4G與5G時代下台灣伺服器產業發展之異同，最後發展出美國與台灣伺服器產業關鍵成功因素上的「雙四角錐」分工模型。本研究利用深度訪談法，在訪談7位相關產業的高階經理人之後，使用AHP分層分析程序法，歸納出維持台灣伺服器產業國際競爭力的關鍵成功因素：「創新」、「支持產業」、「政府」，其中發現「創新」這項因素在5G時代下排名上升至第一順位，藉此針對其未來的挑戰給予台灣伺服器產業在5G時代下的建議及商業策略。

Taiwan is known as the “kingdom of servers”, with the ODM Direct business model shipping up to 30% of the world’s server market. With the advent of the 5G era, countries are competing fiercely in technological innovation and patents, which causes server market share changing. Therefore, the main purpose of this research is to understand the key factors of the international competitiveness of Taiwan’s server industry, and to propose the challenges that will be faced in the 5G era, so as to provide future business strategies to maintain the international competitiveness of Taiwan’s server industry under the development of 5G. This study firstly conducts literature review in terms of international competitiveness, industry analysis, global supply chain and value chain. Then, the study analyzes the international competitiveness of Taiwan's server industry, and summarizes the 6 key success factors and 17 sub-factors, which are used to compare the similarities and differences between 4G and 5G eras in Taiwan’s server industry. Finally, this study proposes a model of the server industry under the supply chain between the United States and Taiwan. This research takes AHP analysis method and in-depth interview method to interview 7 senior managers of related industries, and summarizes the key success factors for maintaining the international competitiveness of Taiwan’s server industry: “innovation”, “support industry”, “government”. In addition, it is found that the factor of 'innovation' has risen to the first place in the 5G era. In view of future challenges, the study provides business strategies for Taiwan’s server industry in the 5G era.
